Jack
is a man that has a good job, nice apartment, and a terrible case
of insomnia. His doctor tries to console Jack after refusing to
give him a prescription for his insominia, by stating that he doesn't
have it bad compared to the patients with terminal diseases. Out
of curiosity Jack crashes the support groups for these patients.
There he meets Marla, who is also at the support groups because
of a morbid sense of curiosity. When Jack's job sends him on a
business flight he meets Tyler Durden , a soap salesmen. Tyler
doesn't put much faith in the materialistic world that Jack longs
to travel in and believes that one can learn a great deal through
pain, misfortune and chaos. Jack and Tyler become friends and roommates.
After Tyler challenges Jack to a fight, Jack discovers that the
slugfest has made him feel better than he has in years. The two
of them form the secretly guarded Fight Club which becomes an underground
sensation. However, Jack and Tyler's bond becomes strained when
Tyler becomes involved with Marla, whom Jack has become infatuated
